Actually, thousands of towers work continuously to keep the mobile network running. Electricity and diesel play a major role in running these towers. According to reports, about 40 percent of the total operating expenses of a mobile tower is spent only on electricity and fuel. In such a situation, when petrol and diesel become expensive, the cost of operating the tower will also increase rapidly.

The biggest challenge faced by telecom companies is that they have to keep the network spread across the country running without interruption. Many towers, especially in rural and remote areas, still depend on diesel generators. In such a situation, the cost of fuel will have a direct impact on the pockets of the companies. Reports have claimed that big telecom companies may have to spend hundreds of crores of rupees extra every year just in diesel expenses.
