This move could create controversy, especially in markets where eSIM usage is still limited.
Challenge in China, change is easy in India
This information comes from Chinese tipster Instant Digital who claimed on Weibo that SIM slot will not be provided in the foldable iPhone. Currently, eSIM service is not that developed in China due to which users there may face problems.
However, the situation is better in India. Jio, Airtel and Vi already provide eSIM support, so the transition is going to be quite easy for Indian users. Apple has also been taking many of its models in the SIM-free direction for the last few years.
How will iPhone Fold be?
Reports suggest that Apple’s first foldable phone could be the company’s most advanced device. It is expected to have a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch foldable inner screen. It is also claimed that Apple has solved the crease problem which is seen in almost all foldable phones till now. That means the screen inside can be visible with almost no lines.
Apple’s next generation A20 Pro chip can be given in the phone which will be based on TSMC’s 2-nanometer technology. This will see a big improvement in performance and power efficiency. New Silicon-Carbon technology can also be adopted for the battery, which will maintain the thin design with more capacity.

According to leaks, the thickness of the foldable iPhone can be equal to two iPhone Air, which will make it look strong but will not be heavy in the hand. The company can also take a big step in the matter of camera. It is rumored that it will have a 24MP under-display front camera so that there will be no cutout in the screen and the photo quality will also be of flagship level.

According to reports, the foldable iPhone is expected to hit the market by the end of 2026.
