YouTube: YouTube is soon preparing to introduce such a feature through which creators will be able to create Shorts with the help of their own digital AI avatar. This means that creators will be able to post videos of their appearance and voice even without coming in front of the camera. This big plan has been disclosed by YouTube CEO Neil Mohan in his annual letter.
AI will remain a tool of expression, not a substitute for humans
Neil Mohan clearly said that the purpose of AI for YouTube is to increase the creativity of creators, not to replace them. The company wants AI to become a helpful tool that can make new types of content experiments possible.
How can AI digital twin feature work?
Although YouTube has not yet told when this feature will be launched or how it will work technically, it is believed that its method may be similar to other AI avatar tools. In this, the creator may have to record a short selfie video and voice sample, after which the system will create a 3D digital avatar based on it. This AI avatar can be seen in Shorts video.
There will be complete transparency regarding AI content
YouTube says that content created with AI will be clearly labeled. Also, it will be important to tell the creators that their video is not original, but is altered or synthetic by AI. Apart from this, the company is also going to bring such new tools through which creators will be able to control the use of AI for their appearance and identity.
Will ‘AI slope’ increase on YouTube?
The CEO also expressed concern about low-quality and repetitive content created by AI. He said that it is the responsibility of YouTube to provide a good experience to the viewers on the platform. For this reason, the company is further strengthening its existing system to prevent spam, clickbait and weak AI content.
Tremendous growth and new features of Shorts
According to Neil Mohan, about 200 billion views are coming every day on YouTube Shorts. In the coming time, there will also be a facility to add image posts directly to the Shorts feed. Along with this, parents will be given control over how long children and teenagers can scroll Shorts, there will even be an option to set the timer completely to ‘zero’.
The role of AI is increasing in YouTube.
YouTube already offers several AI tools, like ‘Edit with AI’ in the Create app, auto dubbing in over 20 languages, and Dream Screen for Shorts. Apart from this, a new AI feature can also be introduced through which games can be created just by writing text.
So far, more than 2 crore users have asked questions related to the video using YouTube’s AI-powered ‘Ask’ button. This feature helps in understanding the content better while watching the video.
