Whatsapp New Feature: WhatsApp is soon preparing to give a new and interesting look to its Channels feature. According to reports, the messaging platform is working on interactive quizzes for channels so that now admins will not be limited to giving one-sided updates but will also be able to engage followers directly.
New feature seen in iOS and Android beta
This new feature has recently been seen in the latest WhatsApp beta version of iOS through TestFlight. Some time before this, a similar tool had also appeared in Android beta. According to WABetaInfo, this feature has been named Channel Quiz and it has been specially designed for channel admins.
How is Channel Quiz different from Poll?
Till now polls were being used in channels which are usually meant to gather people’s opinion. But the purpose of quiz is different. Knowledge will be tested in this. Admins can enter a question and add multiple answer options to it. The most important thing is that before posting, the administrator must choose the correct answer so that users understand that this is not an opinion but an informational question.
Quizzes will be more fun with pictures
WhatsApp is not limiting this feature to just text. Admins will also be able to add images to each answer. This will make quizzes more visual, educational and useful for brand-related content. As soon as a follower selects the correct answer, he or she will see confetti animations on the screen, making the entire experience as fun as a game.
Admins will get insights of user response
Through Channel Quiz, admins will also be able to know how many people chose which option. This will help in understanding the understanding and interest of the audience in a better way. However, privacy will be taken full care of. If a follower is not saved in the administrator’s contact list, only limited information will be visible. In many cases, only the profile photo will be visible, while the name and number will remain hidden.
WhatsApp Channels will get new competition
The arrival of the quiz feature is an indication that WhatsApp wants to make its channels more attractive. Platforms like Telegram and Instagram Broadcast Channels are already focusing on interactive tools. In such a situation, WhatsApp also does not want to lag behind in this race. For content creators, teachers and brands, this feature can become an effective way to engage the audience again and again.
When will all users get this feature?
Currently, Channel Quiz is in the testing phase in the beta version of both the platforms, iOS and Android. WhatsApp has not yet announced its official launch date. However, the way this feature has started appearing on different platforms, it indicates that it may soon be rolled out for all users. In the coming time, WhatsApp Channels can become a platform not only for watching but also for playing and learning.
