Now there will be hands-free navigation
Google has now added Gemini AI powered route planning and navigation features in Maps. Now drivers can ask ‘Where is the nearest petrol pump?’ directly from Maps. or ‘Where is parking nearby?’ You will be able to get answers by asking questions like: For this they will not even need to type or tap. Additionally, Gemini will now be able to access apps like Calendar and Gmail, allowing users to navigate as well as plan their schedules.
You will get warning of jam in advance
A new feature has been added to Google Maps, which will give you advance information about traffic jams, road closures or other obstructions, even if you have turned off navigation. This feature will be started in cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru and it will work on highways and major roads.
Information about accident prone areas and speed limits
Google Maps has a feature that gives information about accident prone areas especially for India. It will alert the driver through visual and voice alerts about those areas where there is a high possibility of an accident. It will be first rolled out for Android users in Gurugram, Cyberabad, Chandigarh and Faridabad. Apart from this, it will also show the official speed limit in partnership with the local traffic authority. It will be started from 9 cities including Gurugram.
Will give information about highway conditions
Google Maps has partnered with NHAI to provide users with information about highway conditions, road blockages and repairs etc. With this, the user will get information about road conditions as well as information about public restrooms, eating places and petrol pumps etc.
Voice navigation for flyover
Google has included voice navigation in Maps especially for flyovers in India. That is, it will tell by voice whether the driver has to climb on the flyover or go from below. This feature was being demanded for a long time. This feature will be available in nine Indian languages.
